TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Open to all student and staff of IIUM except the members of the organizing committee of DigiteX’09.
2. Participant may use digital or analog cameras.
3. Each photograph must be submitted with one entry form and RM2.00 entrance fee. The form can be obtained from the mentioned organizing committees below.
4. Entries are to be submitted in the form of color or monochrome prints. The minimum size will be 8” x 12” (8R).
5. Each entry must be enclosed with the negative for analog camera or softcopy (file size not less than 2mb) for digital camera.
6. Participants can send in as many entries as they wish. However, a participant can only win one (1) prize.
7. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through third parties.
8. No digital super imposition/composition is allowed. Minor image touch-up is allowed and these include adjustment of brightness of colour and softening or sharpening of the image.
9. Entries will be judged on the basis of artistic merit, originality, content and the appropriateness of the caption to the theme of the image.
10. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic contest. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Participants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
11. Copyright of all images submitted for this competition shall remain with the respective participants. However, in consideration of their providing the contest, each participant grants the right to ENGINIUS to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material. ENGINIUS shall be allowed to keep, exhibit and make copies of all photographs without prior consent or payment to participant.
12. An esteemed panel of judges will determine the winners. The decision of the judges is final and no queries on the result will be entertained.
13. The organizing committee reserves the right to substitute the prizes with appropriate value.
14. The organizing committee reserves the right to amend, delete or add to the above Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
15. Winners will be notified either by e-mail or phone.
